1. Dedicated Sportsman Status (DSS)
   Outline of process to request a DSS Certificate from SADPA
   Members are reminded that a Minimum of 20 Points is required before the application will be considered.
   
   EXISTING DSS Certificates
   Members with existing DSS Status are reminded that an annual reduction of -20 points (1st of January of each year) is in place. A minimum level of 20 Points is required to maintain DSS status.
   
   SHOOTERS have points allocated on the following basis:
   Clubs Shoot : 4 points
   SADPA League Shoot : 6 points
   SA Champs : 10 points
   
   SAFETY OFFICERS are allocated additional points on the following basis:
   Clubs Shoot : 1 points
   SADPA League Shoot : 2 points
   SA Champs : 4 points
   
   DSS points reduction -20 : 01/01/2010
   The removal of 20 Points for all members with DSS certificates issued prior to 31/12/2009 has been implemented.
   The need and reason for this has been communicated with members before.
   
   THE NEXT -20 ADJUSTMENT WILL OCCUR 1 JAN 2011
   All members must ensure that they maintain the minimum points level to keep the DSS status.

2. AMMUNITION RESTRICTION : DEC'07
   (Francios de Klerk : Dir: Matches & Competitions)
   A query was logged with Dir: Matches & Competitions by a shooter that queried the restriction of ammo when beginning a CoF.
   It was at a Shoot at Golden City Defensive Pistol Club (GCDPC) where a Vickers count CoF (Scenario) required you to start with only 6 rounds in the firearm. It was used in a way to have the shooter do a reload at a specific point in the CoF.
   The query was "that you had to start with maximum legal capacity".
   Nigel Hulleman and Francios de Klerk disagreed and referred the query to IDPA HQ. The answer is attached below for your perusal.
   
   "OFFICAL IDPA Response
   The rule is that the CoF can instruct you to start with a said amount (NOT EXCEEDING MAX LEGAL CAPACITY) of ammunition in the firearm.
   The explanation why this is required must then form part of the CoF."
